Job summary

The YMCA seeks an After School Leader in Newman, MA to assist the Site Coordinator in developing and delivering high-quality, academically aligned after-school activities. You will supervise children, support their social-emotional development, and help maintain a safe, welcoming program.

Responsibilities include planning daily activities, leading group and individual activities, promoting inclusion, attending staff meetings, and representing the YMCA professionally to families and school staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and have a high-school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications required before working with children: Child Abuse Prevention Training, New Employee Orientation, all RI DHS and MA EEC requirements.
• Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen; RI DHS Pre-service Health & Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Site Coordinator in planning and leading age-appropriate, academically aligned activities.
• Supervise and actively engage with children; ensure health and safety at all times.
• Provide leadership for activities, including small and large group sessions and enrichment activities.
• Promote inclusion and equity among all participants; maintain positive behavior and environment.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development; assist in site maintenance and food service as needed.
• Represent the YMCA professionally to parents, families, and school personnel.
