Job summary

Rising Ground's RISE Academy – the COMPASS After School Program – Education Specialist is responsible for the creation and the implementation of high-quality curriculum and enrichment programming for the COMPASS Afterschool Program and Summer Program.

Working closely with the Program Director and the Program Supervisor, the Education Specialist provides coaching, training, and performance support to Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, Youth Workers, and volunteers to ensure consistent,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• At least 1 year of teaching or lesson plan development.
• Experience coaching, training, and evaluating staff.
• Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, or enrichment programming for school-age children.
• Experience in afterschool, education, recreation, childcare, or youth development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of DYCD standards and program compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage curriculum and enrichment programming across COMPASS content areas.
• Design, organize, and oversee lesson plans aligned with DYCD COMPASS requirements.
• Provide observation, coaching, supervision, training to Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and Youth Workers.
• Maintain curriculum materials, activity schedules, and instructional resources.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, school staff, and partners.
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
