Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York seeks a Content Specialist for the Staten Island South Shore Center. The role focuses on selecting and managing curricula for COMPASS programs, coaching staff, and ensuring program quality.

The position is Part-Time/Regular, based in Staten Island, NY, and offers $17.00–$25.00 hourly with a focus on youth development and inclusive programming within a strong community framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience with children under 13.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory/oversight experience.
• Experience developing education-based curriculum/lesson plans.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage content across program areas; create curricula when needed.
• Oversee lesson plan implementation and support staff to ensure quality.
• Coach staff with strategies for lesson facilitation and behavior support.
• Review content for high-quality standards of the Y Afterschool Programs.
• Provide professional development for program staff.
• Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist participants in improving academic skills and study habits.
• Work with school staff to align activities with academic expectations.
• Promote inclusive, welcoming environment and diversity.
• Maintain accurate program documentation.
• Adhere to OCFS/DOH/partner standards.
