Job summary

The YMCA of Central New Mexico is seeking a Site Coordinator to supervise afterschool and summer day camp activities for children aged 5 to 12. Under the Program Director, you will ensure licensing requirements are met and oversee curriculum development, staffing, and day-to-day operations across locations such as HB Horn, Sunset View, Tomasita, Matheson Park, MAS Yale, and MAS Old Coors.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• Knowledge in school-age curriculum development and age-appropriate activities.
• Develops and implements curriculums including Character Development.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.
• 2 years’ experience working with children in a developmental setting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of the daily program and curriculum.
• Support day-to-day activities in Summer Day Camp/Afterschool, including staffing.
• Maintain proper staff-to-child ratios per state minimum standards.
• Plan and prepare a creative learning environment with centers of interest.
• Interact with children with respect and dignity at all times.
• Maintain program site, equipment, and required records.
• Attend family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and trainings.
• Follow the chain of command and assist accordingly.
• Help with general housekeeping and keep children supervised at all times.
• Uphold YMCA policies including safety, emergencies, and abuse prevention.
