Amazing Athletes is seeking a dependable Assistant Site Coordinator for our afterschool program at SAM Elementary on 96th Street, with oversight across SAM Elementary and SAM Nursery in New York City.

You will oversee attendance, dismissal procedures, and support the Wonder Lab class. The schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 3:15–5:15 PM at SAM Elementary, with occasional coverage at SAM Nursery as needed. Salary is $35 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in afterschool programs, schools, camps, or childcare settings.
• Strong attention to attendance, supervision, and dismissal procedures.
• Ability to lead activities and support another instructor’s class.
• Reliable availability on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-5:15 PM.

Responsibilities

• Confirm each child's arrival and attendance, and promptly follow up on discrepancies.
• Lead Wonder Lab activities for a small group of students.
• Support the instructor and students during the enrichment class that follows.
• Manage dismissal and confirm each child is released according to procedures.
• Communicate with the Site Coordinator about attendance, staffing, and parent questions.
• Serve as the on-site point person at SAM Elementary on scheduled program days.

Amazing Athletes is seeking a dependable Assistant Site Coordinator for our afterschool program at SAM Elementary on 96th Street. Our program operates at two SAM School locations: SAM Elementary at 7 E 96th St and SAM Nursery at 148 E 74th St.

Our Site Coordinator oversees both locations and is based primarily at the 74th Street site. We're looking for a point person at SAM Elementary who can work closely with them to keep the program organized, make sure every child is accounted for, and help the afternoon run smoothly.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, you'll lead a small Wonder Lab class, support the enrichment class that follows, and oversee dismissal at the end of the day. Wonder Lab currently has one student on Monday and two students on Wednesday.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the transition from the school day into afterschool at SAM Elementary.

The Schedule

• Monday and Wednesday: 3:15-5:15 PM at SAM Elementary
• Tuesday and Thursday: No regular programming at SAM Elementary. You may be contacted for optional coverage or support at SAM Nursery when needed; these hours are not guaranteed.

• Primary location - SAM Elementary: 7 E 96th St, New York, NY 10128
• Possible coverage location - SAM Nursery: 148 E 74th St, New York, NY 10021

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an afterschool program, school, camp, childcare, or similar setting.
• Strong attention to attendance, supervision, and dismissal procedures.
• Ability to lead activities and support another instructor’s class.
• Reliable availability on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-5:15 PM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating a program, managing student transitions, or serving as a classroom lead.
• Availability for occasional Tuesday or Thursday coverage at SAM Nursery.

$35 per hour.
