Job summary

Caliday School Age Teachers assist the Program Director in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

Requirements include an AA or bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or the 45 clock hours Child Development and the 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or similar OR 45 clock hours Child Development plus 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care
• CPR and First Aid certificates, Basic Health and Safety, and ADA training required
• 400 hours of experience working with school-age children in a professional setting

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space in compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors
• Implements age-appropriate activities and effective classroom management
• Supervises and counsels children using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management
• Communicates effectively with parents and school community
