Job summary

The New School Montessori is seeking an enthusiastic After-School Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in a playful, Montessori environment for Preprimary students. This part-time role focuses on transitions from the regular school day into after-school activities, snack time, outdoor play, and classroom experiences, with hours from 2:30 p.m.

to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, paid at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children preferred.
• High School Diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
• Assist with transitions from regular school day into after-school program.
• Support end-of-day routines, snack, outdoor play, and classroom activities.
• Help support the extended day (X-Day) program.
