Job summary

The Timken Company in Rutherfordton, NC is seeking a Dispatcher for the Afternoon Shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm–11:00pm). This role supports production by rapidly directing problem resolution and maintaining data accuracy to keep equipment moving and customers served.

You will monitor andon signals, gather facts, escalate to Eng., Maint, and Quality, and use Excel-based dashboards to analyze downtime. Strong proficiency in the MS Office suite and a methodical problem-solving approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel for spreadsheets, Pivot tables, charts.
• Must multitask and manage competing priorities.
• Must demonstrate methodical problem solving and coaching.
• TMOS training will be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor andon activation and direct response and escalation.
• Immediately gather and record facts when andon is initiated.
• Track duration of the andon event and dispatch appropriate support.
• Data mine the andon database to aid in problem solving and reduce downtime.
• Track all open A3s/5Cs and provide advance notice of upcoming report outs.
• Monitor all closed A3s to record countermeasure effectiveness.
• Measure, record, and report key metrics as directed.
• Ensure visual management tools on the floor are displayed per standard.
• Develop, record, and publish spreadsheets as needed.
• Assist in designing and building visual management tools.
• Assist in problem solving and coaching others.
• Assist with additional TMOS requirements on the floor.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
