Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking an Afternoon Custodian at Norup International School to maintain clean facilities and support events. The role runs Monday–Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week over 52 weeks, with a benefit package per AFSCME agreement.

• Successful completion of drug/fitness screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas: sweep and vacuum rooms and halls; dust rooms and lockers; mop bathrooms; replenish supplies; clean whiteboards; doors and windows; entryways; report repairs; maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
• Perform set ups and takedowns for events and activities
• Clean up after night activities
• Assist with snow removal
• Perform other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION:Starting at $18.63 per hour per the current AFSCME Salary Schedule - commensurate with education/experience + benefit package provided in the current AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean assigned areas as follows:
  • Sweep and vacuum rooms and halls
  • Dust rooms and lockers
  • Mop bathroom floor, clean toilets and urinals and replenish paper supplies
  • Clean whiteboards as necessary
  • Clean doors and windows
  • Clean entryways
  • Report any needed repairs to custodial supervisor
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in their section
• Perform set ups and takedowns for events and activities
• Clean up after night activities
• Assist with snow removal
• Perform other duties as assigned
