Job summary

Kids for the Future in Elgin, IL is seeking an Aftercare Worker to help supervise and engage school-age children in the aftercare program. You will support activities, homework, snacks, and transitions, under the Aftercare Program Lead.

This role requires patience, reliability, and the ability to maintain a safe, respectful environment across classrooms, gym, and play areas. Prior experience with children is helpful; First Aid/CPR certification is required or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is helpful but not required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with students during aftercare hours, including activities, snack time, homework, indoor/outdoor play, and transitions.
• Help maintain a safe, positive, nurturing, and respectful environment.
• Encourage positive behavior and follow school and aftercare rules and expectations.
• Assist students with homework and age-appropriate activities while encouraging independence.
• Notify the Aftercare Program Lead of behavioral concerns, injuries, illnesses, or other student needs.
• Treat all students with patience, respect, kindness, and fairness.
