Job summary

LEARN LA seeks a Youth Leader to support after-school programs across multiple sites in Pomona, CA. This part-time hourly role involves working with approx. 20 students in academic, physical activity, and enrichment activities.

Under a Site Coordinator, you will help ensure safety, deliver instruction, tutor groups, and model professional behavior. Availability Mon-Fri 2:00pm-6:00pm; some evenings/weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School.
• Passing score on the district examination for Instructional Assistants.
• Experience working with youth in an educational setting is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of assigned students in academic, physical activity, or enrichment activities.
• Ensure supervision and safety of students during program hours.
• Provide instruction using program materials.
• Provide small-group tutoring and homework assistance.
• Be a positive adult role model through dress, speech and attitude.
• Arrive punctually to meet on-site responsibilities.
• Follow lesson plans and engage youth accordingly.
• Assist with setup, teardown, and site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions per child safety guidelines.
• Communicate student needs to the Site Coordinator, teachers, and parents.
• Ensure daily program requirements such as attendance and snacks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
