Job summary

LEARN LA is hiring a Youth Leader to support after-school programs at multiple middle and high schools in the LA region. You will supervise a group of roughly 20 students across academic, physical activity, and enrichment activities, ensuring safety and adherence to lesson plans.

We value experience with youth in educational settings and the ability to tutor in math or science. The role requires a flexible, team-oriented approach and may include evenings and weekend events at LEARN sites.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School is required.
• Passing score on the district examination for Instructional Assistants is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of up to 20 students in academic, physical activity, or enrichment activities.
• Ensure student safety and supervision during program hours.
• Provide instruction and small-group tutoring using program materials.
• Be a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
• Communicate student needs to Site Coordinator, teachers, and parents as appropriate.
• Assist in setup, breakdown, and site maintenance to keep areas clean.
