Job summary

St. Andrew's Parish Parks & Playground Commission is seeking energetic after school counselors to create a fun, safe environment for children ages 5 to 12. Ideal for high school and college students, future teachers, recreation professionals, and anyone who enjoys working with children.

Positions include after-school and day camp roles with shifts Monday–Friday; up to 29 hours per week. CPR/First Aid/AED and Darkness2Light certifications required (or ability to obtain), and applicants 15+ are

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Darkness2Light - Stewards of Children certification required (Can provide in-house).
• Must be dependable, enthusiastic, and able to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, and other recreational activities.
• Supervise children ages 5–12 in a safe and positive environment.
• Assist with homework time and encourage positive behavior.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Maintain clean, organized program areas.
• Help create an engaging, welcoming environment where every child can thrive.
