Job summary

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking an OST Educator to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in our after-school program. Under supervision of the Director of Youth & Family Services, you will ensure health, safety, and adherence to YMCA policies while fostering a positive, inclusive environment.

The role requires experience with children, the ability to build genuine relationships across diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required or obtained within 60 days.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children and program activities.
• Follows policies, procedures, and standards including safety and records.
• Nurtures children with developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Creates positive rapport with youth and models relationship-building skills.
• Offers opportunities for youth leadership, problem-solving and choices.
• Maintains dialogue with parents about child needs and progress; connects families to the Y.
• Attends family nights, activities, staff meetings and trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
