Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois is seeking staff to plan, implement, and supervise after-school academic components at the Satellite Site in cooperation with Site Director, Project Director, and School Principal.

The role emphasizes youth development, teaching, and active engagement with students, parents, and the community. Licenses include CPR/First Aid; bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Current teaching certificate.
  • At least three years’ experience planning and implementing programs for youth.
  • Knowledge of youth development; motivate and guide youth through positive relationships.
  • Ability to relate to the public, parents and Club participants professionally.
  • Ability to convey Boys & Girls Club policies and discipline policies.
  • Ability to organize and supervise participants for safety.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, energy and commitment in interactions with participants and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities within budget to meet program objectives.
  • Provide regular schedules and activity reports to directors and principal.
  • Refer participants to the program and promote attendance.
  • Enforce conduct policies and document discipline.
  • Identify community resources and volunteers.
  • Plan field trips to supplement activities.
  • Represent the organization to participants, parents and public.
  • Involve parents in participant development.
  • Assist with other program areas as assigned.
  • Assist Site Director in academic program development and delivery.
  • Track attendance and academic progress.
