Job summary

The Youth Development Professional – TK and Kinder will join the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro at a school-based site. You will supervise and guide children after school through play-based activities that support early literacy, social-emotional growth, and confidence.

This part-time, on-site role offers hands-on learning with a diverse team, opportunities to implement developmentally appropriate activities, and a chance to contribute to a safe, engaging environment during the school year.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with young children and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Ability to maintain a safe, structured setting for children.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Engaged supervision of young children in a secure, nurturing environment.
• Lead interactive, play-based learning experiences to support language, literacy, math, and social-emotional growth.
• Adapt and implement developmentally appropriate activities based on needs and interests.
• Create a positive learning environment with routines, model behavior, and proactive guidance.
• Build positive relationships by offering warmth, encouragement, and individualized attention.
• Manage daily operations including transitions, snack time, rest, toileting, and play.
