Job summary

The Youth Development Professional at Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County in New Paris provides a safe, engaging environment for youth ages 5–12 after school, delivering activities that support youth development, academic success, social-emotional growth, healthy lifestyles, and positive relationships.

You will supervise, implement high-quality programs, collaborate with school staff, and help create meaningful experiences in a part-time PM schedule, 2:35pm to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Demonstrated competence working with youth ages 5-12
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player with high energy and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to move continuously throughout program areas
• Must be able to monitor children visually and audibly
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in emergencies
• Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise and engage youth throughout daily program activities
• Enforce club expectations and maintain safe, clean spaces
• Respond to injuries and safety situations per policies
• Support transitions and structured supervision in all environments
• Deliver fun, creative, educational activities
• Foster belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence in youth
• Build positive relationships with members, families, and staff
• Assist with attendance tracking, recordkeeping, and admin tasks
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development
