Job summary

BGCNV in Paradise, CA is seeking a Youth Development Professional for Paradise Elementary School. The role focuses on safety and supervision of Club members, with emphasis on TK and Kindergarten.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30–6:30 PM during the school year; wage is $18.25–$19.50 per hour (new hires start at the bottom of the range). Qualifications

• First Aid & CPR certified.
• TB test required.
• FBI/DOJ Live Scan and background check.
• County Assessment met (proof of 48 college units, or college degree/County Assessment Certificate).
• 1–2 years of experience in Recreation or Child Development.
• Knowledge of youth development principles, mentoring and positive behavior guidance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop and implement programs.
• Maintain the upkeep, safety, and appearance of the Club.
• Maintain all required paperwork for programs and participant tracking.
• Coordinate and implement spontaneous recreational activities.
• Promote activities through bulletin boards, newsletters, flyers, and announcements with enthusiasm.
• Assist in planning and implementing academic enrichment.
• Maintain recreation equipment and facilities; report supplies as needed.
• Work with staff and parents/guardians to recognize members for good work and address disciplinary issues.
• Provide direction for volunteers to stimulate participation.
• Deliver quality customer service by greeting the public, parents, and groups and guiding tours.
