Job summary

GLOW YMCA, Inc. is seeking a part-time Before & After School staffer to serve students aged 4–12 in a nurturing, values-driven program. You will help implement curriculum, supervise activities, and ensure a safe, positive environment.

Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, you will engage families, support volunteers, and contribute to a high-quality experience for children and families. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred or to be obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications as required by state law.
• NYS School Age Child Care Clearance required.
• At least 18 years of age to work.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and related training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum within established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and activities.
• Maintains program records and attendance documentation.
• Engages families and recruits volunteers.
• Ensures safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Participates in family nights, staff meetings and trainings.
• Promotes YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
