Job summary

GLOW YMCA is seeking an After-School Child Care staff member to serve children aged 4 to 12 in Caledonia, NY. Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, you will help implement the program curriculum, supervise activities, and ensure safety and well-being while modeling YMCA values.

This part-time role averages under 30 hours per week, with Monday–Friday after-school shifts and occasional staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience requirements per state regulations as applicable.
• Must be able to engage children aged 4–12 in a safe, developmentally appropriate manner.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Prior experience with children in group settings is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and new employee orientation are encouraged within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum within established guidelines.
• Design and implement daily activity plans.
• Supervise children and maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain attendance and program records.
• Communicate with families and engage them as volunteers.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
