Job summary

GLOW YMCA, Inc. is seeking a positive, energetic Child Care staff member to support before- and after-school programs serving ages 4-12.

The role emphasizes safety, supervision, and implementation of the program curriculum in a welcoming, values-driven environment. You’ll work Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons with occasional meetings and trainings; this is part-time, averaging under 30 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Meets state education requirements for school-age care.
• Age 18+ to work in Prime Time and Child Watch.
• High School diploma or GED.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with children in development settings preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum per established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and activities.
• Conducts ongoing observations and evaluations of each child.
• Maintains positive relationships with families and engages them as volunteers.
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and trainings.
• Promotes the physical, intellectual, social, cultural and emotional well-being of children.
• Provides direct leadership to assigned group(s) with constant supervision.
• Participates in daily activities and assists children with tasks including age-appropriate activities.
• Builds enthusiasm for activities and programs.
• Completes required attendance, health, and sign-in/out documentation.
