Job summary

Horry County Schools seeks an After School Child Care Worker to provide daily supervision and engage children in activities. You will work under the site supervisor and help with assignments, snack distribution, and safety protocols in a school setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and CPR/First Aid certification. You will participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive after-school program environment.

Qualifications

Job Summary

3. Assist children when necessary with hygiene needs.
4. Assist children with assignments and activities.
5. Assist the site supervisor with providing all daily services and reports.
6. Coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor.
7. Provide assistance in distributing snacks, supplies, etc.
8. Refer serious discipline problems to the site supervisor.
9. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to an afterschool program.

Other Duties

Performs any other related duties as assigned by the site supervisor.

Physical Requirements

The position will require numerous physical demands while working with children. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have to stand, walk, bend, run, stoop, lift, etc. The following are some of the physical demands of the job.

• Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs
• Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students and to participate in activities
• Able to be active for an extended period of time
• Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
