Job summary

Shelby County Schools seeks a Before/After-School Certified Tutor to provide academic and social skill development for students in designated grades. You will design tutoring plans, assist classroom activities, and reinforce learning to help students succeed.

Required: Associate’s Degree or two years of college (48 semester hours) or a passing ParaPro test, plus one year of experience with children in an educational setting. CPR/First Aid certification is required or can be obtained.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or two years of college (minimum 48 semester hours) or a passing ParaPro test.
• One year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Generates tutoring plans for each student with goals and enrichment activities.
• Develops and assists students with academic exercises and class activities.
• Reinforces classroom learning and supports daily routines and concepts.
• Communicates and collaborates with the classroom teacher.
• Collects data and assists with accountability reporting.
