Job summary

The Salvation Army in Naples, FL is seeking a part-time Education Assistant to tutor school-aged children after school hours. The role runs 25 hours per week, typically M–F 1:30 pm–6:00 pm, in a classroom setting. Key Responsibilities

• Assists, instructs, and evaluates children in the academic areas in which they are weak so they may better understand and perform the skills in those areas.
• Conducts individual and group tutoring sessions with students; prepares various reports documenting the student’s progress and shares the same with parents and others as necessary.
• Supervises children in the playground and plans activities the children can enjoy while outdoors, plans and coordinates sports activities as well as arts and crafts.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Works is performed in a normal classroom or office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
• Work requires occasional travel to schools which may involve exposure to changes in weather and/or heavy traffic.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
