Job summary

The Salvation Army in Florida seeks a dedicated part-time childcare assistant to supervise children, implement engaging activities, and maintain a positive environment for kids and families. You will support daily routines, safety, and transportation as needed.

Responsibilities include tutoring, planning age-appropriate activities, and reporting progress to parents. A valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are required, with a 25-hour work week and afternoon schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of experience teaching school-aged children.
• DCF state training and certifications must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Supervises children and implements activities.
• Maintains a safe classroom environment and ensures safety.
• Provides transportation for children to activities and after-school pickups.
• Plans outdoor and indoor activities, sports and arts/crafts.
• Documents progress and shares reports with parents.

Schedule/Hours: M – F 1:30 pm – 6 pm - 25 hours a weekThis position is responsible for:Supervises children, implements activities, maintains classroom environment, ensures children’s safety, establishes a positive environment for children and families.
