Job summary

Capital City Public Charter School is seeking innovative, experienced teachers for the 2026-2027 school year to support PK-6 students in our after-school program. Roles are 10-month, non-exempt, with planning time and a 3:00–6:00 p.m. Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri schedule, plus 1:00–6:00 p.m.

on Wednesdays and an additional planning hour weekly. Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising homework, and enforcing a social curriculum consistent with the Responsive Classroom model.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; experience supervising and teaching elementary-age students preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage a diverse student group.
• Experience in diverse and inclusive settings is desired.
• Spanish speakers are desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead activities for students in small and large groups during recreational and activity times.
• Supervise and support students with homework completion.
• Implement a social curriculum and discipline approach aligned with the school day (Responsive Classroom model).
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, teachers, and school staff to foster collaboration.
• Attend and actively participate in scheduled planning time.
• Work with an average ratio of 1 adult:10 students within age-grouped classes.
