Job summary

The Greece Central School District seeks a tutoring assistant to support middle school students after school in homework help, organization, and reading activities.

You will work with students to prepare for tests, read and discuss texts, and model positive behavior within the school community. Fingerprinting clearance is required before employment begins.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: Working permit.
• Maintain 85+ in all classes.
• Maintain positive attendance (arrive to all classes on time, be present for the full period).
• Maintain a positive behavioral record.
• Your grades, attendance, and behavior will impact your tutoring status.

Responsibilities

• Help middle school students complete homework and class assignments.
• Assist students with locker, binder, and organization.
• Study and/or create study notes with middle schoolers for tests and quizzes.
• Read and discuss texts to promote reading comprehension and love of reading.
• Model appropriate and respectful behavior.
• Project a positive attitude about school work and staff relations.
• Keep the tutoring classroom clean and orderly during sessions.

• Read and discuss texts with middle schoolers to promote love of reading as well as reading comprehension;
• Model appropriate and respectful behavior;
• Project a positive attitude about school work, studying, and people (staff and students) within the school community;
• Help keep the tutoring classroom clean and orderly throughout the tutoring sessions.
