Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is hiring a Licensed Childcare Center School-age Aide for the Alki Community Center in Seattle. The role supports after-school programming for ages 5–12, assisting with curriculum and activities in a safe, engaging setting.

The position is part-time during the school year, with potential for summer hours. Requires 18+ and a HS diploma or equivalent; experience with children is preferred, and DCYF-related checks are completed after hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have High School Diploma, GED, college transcripts or other secondary education.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience with children ages 5-12 in recreation or childcare.
• Preferred: one year supporting curriculum activities with a large group of children.
• DCYF requirements to be completed after hire (MMR, TB test, MERIT background check, WA food worker card, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with daily curriculum activities for children 5–12.
• Model appropriate behavior and support social and emotional growth.
• Maintain staff-to-child ratio of 1:10 to ensure safety.
• Report to ARC School-age Director.
