Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking a Youth Development Program Site Director to lead a School-Age Program site. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and developmentally appropriate activities, and build strong relationships with families, schools, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, ensuring licensing compliance, and managing budgets and finances, while leading staff and volunteers in alignment with YMCA values and mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare and staff supervision.
• Knowledge of youth development practices and child behavior management.
• SMIC qualifications or equivalent leadership experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations to ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
• Design and implement lesson plans focused on social-emotional learning and academic support.
• Monitor program quality and licensing compliance with state and YMCA requirements.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Engage families and community partners to support youth development.
