The Youth Development Center (YDC) in Houston is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support classroom instruction for K-5 students after school, assist with student arrival/dismissal, supervise in the cafeteria, and ride YDC buses as needed.
The position pays $15-$18 per hour, follows the Houston ISD calendar, and requires passing a criminal history background check. Bilingual in Spanish and education-related career interests are preferred.
Teaching Assistant job duties include: (1) assisting classroom teachers with instruction of students in grades K - 5; (2) assisting with cafeteria student supervision; (3) assisting with student arrival and dismissal procedures; (4) riding on Youth Development Center (YDC) buses on an as-needed basis, and; (5) other duties as assigned.
Days/Hours Requested:Mondays – Thursdays from approximately 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm or 6:45 pm (depending on grade level supported). YDC follows the Houston ISD school year calendar.
Pay: $15 - $18/hour depending on experience
Employment preferences:Bilingual (Spanish) preferred; education-related career interests preferred
