Job summary

Raul Yzaguirre School for Success Charter is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support teachers in delivering instructional programs at the RYSS Middle School in East Aldine, TX.

You will assist with student goals, manage groups, supervise during meals and events, and help prepare ARD/IEP paperwork while contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification.
• Completion of at least two years of college coursework (48 semester hours).
• Possess an associate's degree or higher; or meet THEA standard to assist in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher(s) with student academic goals by working with small groups or an individual child.
• Assists with enforcement of classroom management and behavior plans to create a learning environment.
• Assists with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and events.
• Assists in preparation of paperwork for ARD/IEP processes and data entry for reports.
• Helps plan, prepare, and implement differentiated instruction for individuals or groups.
• Performs other campus duties as assigned.

Job Title: Teacher Assistant

Reports To: Principal

Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools
Location: 10918 1/2 Bentley – RYSS Middle School at East Aldine

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, performs duties that are instructional in nature or may deliver direct services to students or parents. Serves in a position for which a teacher or another professional has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Assists with test administration. May provide specialized assistance for students with special needs.

Education & Experience

Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification.

1. Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as completion of 48 semester hours) of college course work.

2. Possess an associate's (or higher) degree; or

3. Meet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a local academic assessment—Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) [formerly the TASP test], verifying knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.

• Assists teacher(s) with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
• Performs other campus duties as assigned.
