Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an After-School Program Teacher for our Western Hills Lower School in San Antonio. This part-time, afternoon role supports elementary and middle school students with homework, enrichment, and engaging activities.

You will be assigned to a grade-level class and lead daily activities based on a provided lesson plan, including reading, sports, games, art, and music. On-the-job coaching is provided.

Qualifications

• Some college (education or liberal arts preferred).
• Experience with children and in-classroom settings.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead activities.

Reports To: Campus Coordinator

FLSA Status: Part-Time; Hourly

Position Description:

• Lessons and activities include reading, athletics, logic games, art, music, etc.

Qualifications:

• Some college (preferably with education or liberal arts major), experience with children, excellent communication skills, and ability to lead and teach children.

Requirements:

• Must complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by their start date.
• Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.

US Work Authorization is required.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
