Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in San Antonio is seeking part-time After-School Program Teachers to support elementary and middle school students with homework, enrichment, and fun afterschool hours.

You will be assigned to a specific grade-level class, follow a provided lesson plan, and lead activities across reading, athletics, logic games, art and music. US work authorization is required; fingerprint clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Some college (preferably with education or liberal arts major).
• Experience with children.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead and teach children.

Reports To: Campus Coordinator

FLSA Status: Part-Time; Hourly

Locations: San Antonio and DFW Great Hearts San Antonio Campuses Great Hearts Dallas/Ft. Worth Campuses

Position Description:

Part-time afternoon position supporting elementary and middle school students in homework, enrichment, and fun. Teachers will be assigned to a specific grade-level class and conduct a daily activity following a provided lesson plan. Lessons and activities include reading, athletics, logic games, art, music, etc.

Requirements:

• Must complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by their start date.

Physical functions:

• Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.

US Work Authorization is required.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
