Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Head Coach for the Smithville School District’s after-school program. This on-site role leads daily operations, ensures a safe, engaging environment, and coordinates enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities for students.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and ready to mentor site staff, build strong school and family partnerships, and maintain compliant records while responding to incidents as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year leadership experience in education, childcare, youth development, recreation, or related field.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students.
• Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment.
• Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures.
• Supervise and support site staff; provide coaching and feedback.
