YMCA of Greater Rochester is seeking a Site Coordinator to supervise and implement the daily before and after school program. The role emphasizes program excellence and safe, high-quality care for children, with supervision of staff and volunteers and regular parent communication.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or credential in NYS school-age care, plus supervisory experience with children under 13. The position offers paid training and a YMCA family membership.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess an Associate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or related field with two years direct experience with children under 13, including supervisory experience.
• NYS Children’s Program Administrator credential with two years direct experience in child care supervisory roles.
• School Age Child Care Credential or equivalent with two years direct experience in supervisory roles.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in relevant areas and two years direct experience with children under 13, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement the daily program schedule and curriculum at a site.
• Maintain a safe environment for all children in the program.
• Supervise, observe, train, evaluate, and mentor staff and volunteers; maintain positive relationships among staff and site personnel.
• Communicate daily with parents/guardians regarding children in all youth programs.
• Assist in recruitment of program participants and interviewing program staff.
• Assist Program Director in directing and enhancing the Fun Club Program.
