Job summary

Neighborhood House in Portland, OR seeks a Program Leader - Temporary Assignment for its School Age Program serving ages 5-12. This 30-hour-per-week role supports Program Coordinators by developing and teaching daily curriculum and assisting with social-emotional development, while acting as substitute when needed.

The position requires reliability, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work with diverse youth and families, following licensing rules and PBIS guidelines, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must register in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR).
• Knowledge of childhood development and K-5th grade education with documentation to prove.
• GED required, AA degree preferred, or ORO Step 6.
• 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed facility or comparable program.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum with Program Coordinator and plan lessons.
• Adhere to licensing regulations and work with children in a 15:1 ratio.
• Assist with homework, structured group activities, recess, and snacks.
• Participate in team meetings and prepare the site for children.
• Communicate with parents at drop-off and pick-up about the day.
• Turn in payments and paperwork to admin while complying with rules.
• Collaborate professionally with Neighborhood House staff.
