Job summary

A Child's Place is seeking an energetic Onsite Coordinator to lead the Before and After School Care program at Lionville Elementary in the Downingtown School District. The role oversees staff, schedules, activities, and safety for school-aged children from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

The position is part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, with before care 6:45-8:30 am and after care 3:00-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Grades Preparation, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related Human Services field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years (2,500 hours) of documented experience working with children.
• Previous experience managing or leading a group of children.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and lead a team effectively.
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain all required background checks and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Before and After School Program.
• Provide effective leadership, direction, and support to program staff.
• Supervise children in a variety of settings, including snack time, group activities, individual activities, playground time, and gym activities.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment.
• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities for school-aged children.
• Create and maintain program schedules, routines, and daily structure.
• Prepare and submit monthly activity plans, supply lists, and newsletters by assigned deadlines.
• Address parent and student concerns professionally and communicate effectively with families.
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, parents, staff, and school district personnel.
• Implement positive discipline and guidance strategies to support appropriate behavior.
• Ensure staff follow ACP policies, procedures, and DHS licensing regulations.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and ensure employee files are complete and compliant with DHS and ACP requirements.
• Assist with daily classroom organization, supplies, and light cleaning duties.
• Ensure consistent supervision and maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times.
