Job summary

arc After School and Experiential Education in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Part-Time Program Leader to support after-school programs at Bixby Elementary. You will guide students through social-emotional learning, homework help, enrichment activities, and new adventures each day.

Our ideal candidate has at least one year of relevant experience, is a clear communicator with kids and parents, and can pass TB and Live Scan checks.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in after-school programs or youth recreation within ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Strong communication with kids and parents.
• College transcripts showing 48+ credits or passing an academic proficiency exam.
• TB test with negative result and Live Scan background check.
• Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome students at the end of their school day.
• Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create unique clubs for students (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance).
• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols and monitoring student behavior.
