Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Denver seeks an Out-of-School Time Program Lead to guide a team in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for youth after school in Arvada, Colorado. You will lead activities, support staff, and ensure programs run smoothly while embodying the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months (460 hours) experience working with children under 13 required; youth-centered education preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience creating interactive and educational activities for youth.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, planning, and implementing daily activities per YMCA philosophy and licensing.
• Implement risk management for safety and well-being of all children.
• Integrate YMCA character development into daily programming.
• Assist Supervisor and observe behavior and engagement for groups up to 15 youth.
• Proactively clean and repair program areas; maintain supplies and equipment.
• Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services.
• Follow dress code; staff shirts, name badge and closed-toe shoes.
• Be available for flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
