Job summary

YWCA Charleston WV seeks an After School Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and implement a high-quality after-school program for children ages 5-12 at 201 Donnally St., Charleston, WV 25301. The role involves ensuring a safe, engaging environment and supervising staff and volunteers under the Program Director and Assistant Director.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years in childcare, and relevant CDA/ACDS or coursework.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working in a childcare environment.
• Knowledge of after school administrative practices.
• Minimum one season of leadership experience in an organized children's after school program.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement developmentally appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for school-age children (5-12).
• Create and maintain a structured daily schedule that promotes positive interactions.
• Provide behavioral guidance using positive techniques.
• Supervise and coordinate classroom and program activities.
