Job summary

The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking a Site Director to lead afterschool and childcare programs in O'Fallon, MO. You will supervise staff, ensure safety, and align activities with YMCA and school guidelines.

Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate activities, mentoring group leaders, maintaining relationships with families, and advancing program growth while upholding zero tolerance for abuse and protecting youth and teens.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 1 year experience working in child care/camp/recreation or related field.
• Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
• Strong communication, organization and detail skills.
• Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
• Must have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and possess knowledge of group work principles.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of program activities.
• Ensure implementation and compliance of YMCA, State and School guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Ensure individual needs of children are met.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, families, school personnel and volunteers.
• Maintain an environment that ensures children, staff and family safety and well being
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children’s development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical competency
• Conduct program in accordance with YMCA goals and principles of developmentally appropriate practices
• Supervise and mentor group leaders and support staff.
• Support program growth and development.
• Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
