Job summary

Gateway Region YMCA in Missouri seeks a Part-time Site Director to coordinate afterschool programs and ensure compliance with YMCA and school guidelines. The role focuses on developing youth activities, supervising staff, and maintaining safe, engaging environments for children.

The incumbent will lead planning, mentor staff, and support program growth while upholding zero tolerance for abuse and protecting youth. A minimum 1 year in childcare/recreation is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year experience in child care/camp/recreation or related field.
• Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
• Strong communication, organization and detail skills.
• Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
• Must have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and possess knowledge of group work principles.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of program and its activities.
• Ensure implementation and compliance of YMCA, State and School guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Ensure individual needs of children are met.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, families, school personnel and volunteers.
• Maintain an environment that ensures children, staff and family safety and well being
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children’s development and learning.
• Conduct program in accordance with YMCA goals and principles of developmentally appropriate practices
• Supervise and mentor group leaders and support staff.
• Support program growth and development.
• Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• -Principals of Early Learning & Afterschool
