Job summary

The YMCA program is seeking an Assistant Site Director to supervise and manage daily operations at assigned afterschool childcare sites, focusing on smaller enrollment locations. You will ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for children and families, while executing association-wide curriculum and coordinating with the Site Director for mentoring and operational checks.

Qualifications

• Meets state education/experience requirements for early childhood programs.
• Bachelor’s in early childhood education or related field with minimum work in licensed center.
• 18+ years of age and must obtain necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-site supervisor during program hours.
• Implement curriculum including arts, sports, STEAM, and healthy snacks.
• Supervise children and activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Mentor aides and teachers to ensure quality delivery.
• Maintain communication with parents and address day-to-day concerns.
• Follow YMCA policies, licensing guidelines, health and safety rules.
• Maintain records, attendance and required documentation.
• Ensure spaces and equipment are safe and stocked.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; participate in coaching sessions.
• Support family engagement activities and program events.
