Job summary

St. Columba Catholic School is seeking a Part-Time Daycare Coordinator to manage after-school care from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with later end times for cleanup.

You will ensure a safe, structured environment and bridge school day routines with home life, fostering positive student relationships and academic habits. Reports to the Principal; requires First Aid/CPR certification and experience with school-aged children.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification prior to start date or attend First Aid/CPR trainings in August.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport with students and families.
• Ability to walk, stand, and actively monitor students for extended periods outdoors, frequently in the sun and varying weather conditions.
• Utmost punctuality and dependability regarding shift hours and student dismissal protocols.
• Previous experience working with school-aged children in a camp, daycare, or school setting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attendance management: manage the secure FACTS daily sign-in/sign-out process for all participating students.
• Shift schedule: 3:00 PM–6:00 PM daily, or until 10 minutes after the last student is picked up or 6:00 PM, whichever ends earlier.
• Facility care: ensure campus is clean, organized, and securely locked after each shift.
• Active supervision: maintain high visibility and monitor students during outdoor play.
• Academic support: provide a separate area for homework completion for self-sufficient students.
• Safety standards: maintain a secure environment and follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Restorative conflict resolution: guide students through peer conflicts with restorative communication (training provided).
• Cross-grade integration: foster positive, inclusive play among varied ages and prevent bullying.
