Job summary

Stmarydelaware is seeking a dependable Aftercare Aide to join our after-school care program in Delaware, Ohio. The role involves supervising students, assisting with snacks and homework, and ensuring a safe and joyful environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of various ages and is available Monday through Friday from 2:45–6:15 PM during the school year. Prior experience with children is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must complete all required Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment requirements, including VIRTUS training and background check.
• Prior experience working with children is preferred but not required.

St. Mary School is seeking a dependable, warm, and energetic Aftercare Aide to join our after-school care program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, brings a calm and positive presence, and is able to help provide a safe, structured, and joyful environment at the end of the school day.

The Aftercare Aide supports students in preschool through middle school during after-school hours, helping with supervision, snack, play, homework time, transitions, and dismissal.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising students in a safe, attentive, and caring manner
• Helping maintain a calm, orderly, and welcoming aftercare environment
• Assisting with snack, indoor and outdoor play, activities, and homework time
• Supporting smooth transitions and student dismissal
• Communicating respectfully and professionally with students, parents, and staff
• Helping clean and reset spaces used during aftercare
• Following all school policies and safety procedures

Ideal candidates will:

• Enjoy working with children of various ages
• Be reliable, patient, and attentive
• Communicate well with both children and adults
• Be able to maintain appropriate boundaries and consistent expectations
