YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is hiring for the 2026/2027 school year to provide after school programming at locations throughout Grand Rapids. After School Program Teachers create a safe, reliable, and fun environment, and Assistant Teachers help plan, develop, and implement classroom activities. Schedules vary, but require Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM.
This part-time position up to 25 hours/week includes benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive community.
Before and after school programming is located at off‑site school locations throughout the Grand Rapids area.
After School Program Teachers provide a reliable, safe, and fun environment for children to unwind after their school day. Assistant Teachers will assist in the planning, developing, and implementing of classroom activities for programs. Schedules vary, but require Monday‑Friday availability, 3:00 PM‑6:00 PM.
Performs any other functions deemed to be necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association.
$15.21 – $19.01; Non‑Exempt, Part time (up to 25 hours/week)
Six months to one year youth development related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. Ability and desire to work with school‑age children.
