Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Program at Burr Elementary School in Fairfield, CT, for the 2026–2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with a 3:00 PM–5:00 PM schedule, offering meaningful activities for children ages 5–12.

The position is part-time and non-exempt, ideal for parents, education majors, or retirees who want to mentor kids and contribute to a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on activities per the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, art, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model.
• Observe state guidelines and host school policies and program rules.
• Support program operations, including attendance, registration, and staffing as needed.
