EASTCONN's Adult and Community Programs is seeking a part-time Program Aide to run activities and supervise elementary-aged children at Natchaug Elementary School two afternoons a week during the school year.

The position emphasizes planning engaging, age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment, with strong communication among children, staff, and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a group setting.
• Ability to manage groups safely and positively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
• Availability for two afternoon shifts per week during the school year.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate activities designed for elementary-aged children, ensuring they are educational, fun, and age-appropriate.
• Provide active supervision, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and spaces.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging participation and positive interactions among children.
• Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as needed.
