Job summary

The Cambridge Housing Authority seeks a Learning Center Coordinator to support after-school educational activities and help run the computer and homework centers for residents' students. This seasonal role offers part-time hours (approximately 20 per week) with afternoons and early evenings, September through mid-June and summer as available, reporting to the Director of The Work Force.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Background in education and adolescent development with demonstrated behavioral management skills.
• Strong ability to motivate and sustain participants’ interest in learning, build strong relationships, and maintain professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of Haitian Creole, Spanish, or Amharic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of homework center and computer lab to foster a constructive learning environment.
• Mentor and provide academic support to program participants.
• Maintain attendance logs and update student database and files regularly.
• Review student documentation and curriculum material with site manager.
• Make reminder and recruitment calls to parents and students regularly.
• Track supplies at the site and order materials as needed.
• Help with all special events and upkeep of the site.
• Maintain a neat and organized site.
• Manage behavior in the homework center and help students reach their academic goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
