Job summary

The City of Fremont is seeking an After School Instructor to plan, prepare, and lead recreation activities for children ages 4–12 at Brier, Cabrillo or Grimmer Elementary Schools in Fremont. This role includes developing lesson plans and supervising groups after school hours.

Responsibilities include delivering arts, cooking, dance, STEM activities; assisting instructors; maintaining safety and order; and communicating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• At least one year of experience working with children in academic or recreation settings.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and submit lesson plans including class content and materials.
• Lead organized activities to develop youth academic, recreational, and social skills.
• Instruct and supervise students in arts, cooking, dance, STEM and other activities.
• Maintain safety and order in classroom and equipment use.
• Interact professionally with parents, students, and staff.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings.
